On Wednesday, June 21, 2017, Michael Kaufman the owner of Cox Printers had the honor of speaking to the Mandela Washington Fellowship at Rutgers University. The Mandela Washington Fellowship is the flagship program of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and embodies commitment of the United States to invest in the future of Africa. Through this initiative, young African leaders are gaining the skills and connections they need to accelerate their own career trajectories and contribute more robustly to strengthening democratic institutions, spurring economic growth, and enhancing peace and security in Africa.
The goals of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders Initiative are to build and sustain a prestigious network of young Sub-Saharan leaders across critical sectors, cement stronger ties between Sub-Saharan Africa and the United States, and prepare Fellows for follow-on leadership opportunities in Africa. As Business and Entrepreneurship Fellows at Rutgers, they will be instructed in the basics and in the challenges of environmentally sustainable supply chains in developing countries, sub-Saharan Africa in particular. They will also have the opportunity to spend time with an American host family and Peer Collaborators.
This presentation focused on American Business and sustainability. Cox Printers is a leader in Green Printing and sustainability so a large part of the presentation focused on the ways in which our company has created multiple initiatives and what our future efforts will look like.
